Liverpool supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are reading the news from the Express with optimism – as the publication claims that Liverpool are preparing a bid for Sassuolo forward Domenico Berardi, a player Klopp was keen on signing at Borussia Dortmund.
The 21-year-old can operate as a forward or as a wide midfielder, and our Reds fans are a big fan of the player’s goalscoring record, with the Italian notching 44 goals in 104 appearances at the Seria A outfit.
Our resident Liverpool fans over by the dartboard here in the Tavern don’t really know too much about Berardi, but are hopeful Klopp knows what he is doing in the transfer market!
The young forward has been involved in the Italy under-21 setup, so he clearly has the potential to excel as a player, but a minority of Reds fans here in the Tavern are slightly disgruntled at his latest rumour flooding into the pub – with them admitting they want the club to be luring world-class players like Ilkay Gundogan, or Marco Reus to Anfield!
Our landlord has to agree with the minority, and feels Klopp needs to be attempting to sign players who are established, and will subsequently turn Liverpool into genuine title contenders.
