More good news for the Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern…
The 2016/17 season has been kind to the Liverpool faithful in the Tavern so far, with Jurgen Klopp’s men steering the Merseyside giants to an impressive 4th place.
After a resolute display against Manchester United, things are definitely on the up for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds – and it looks like he is looking to continue riding his wave of success.
According to the Daily Star, Klopp has already identified his next target, and it comes in the form of Hoffenheim star Fabian Schar.
Schar, currently 24-years-old, has been impressing in the Bundesliga as of late – and his performances have attracted quite the list of interested parties in recent months.
The path towards Schar does appear somewhat clearer this year, however, with Klopp reportedly eyeing a move for the £9 million-rated defender.
The young Swiss defender played a key role in Switzerland’s spell at EURO 2016, making 4 appearances and scoring 1 goal. He has continued his fine form into the Bundesliga season, having picked up nearly 200 minutes worth of action so far.
Our landlord always expected Klopp to utilise the Bundesliga as his main source of young talent; and his reported interest in Schar certainly hints towards that.
The Liverpool fans in the Tavern are concerned about their side’s lack of defensive depth – and so this move certainly would appeal to them.
