Last night’s Luis Suarez show for Liverpool is still being talked about in the Football Transfer Tavern this morning.
The classy Uruguayan striker hit a stunning four goal haul as he put Norwich City to the sword once again to keep pace at the top of the Premier League.
Now Reds supporters have been left excited with the latest speculation about a possible starlet arriving at the club as Brendan Rodgers looks to continue his youthful policy.
Today’s copy of The Mirror reports that Liverpool are now close to sealing an agreement with promising Swedish star Valmir Berisha, who has also been tracked by Tottenham and Real Madrid.
The 17-year-old Halmstads striker was mentioned in the tavern last week as he was linked with a January switch to Anfield as he looks to continue his development. It now appears that negotiations have progressed with Rodgers even planning to offer him first team football this season.
Berisha first attracted attention as the top scorer at the recent Under-17’s World Cup with Real Madrid also making inquiries about the young forward. He has already turned down trials at Arsenal and Manchester United but now admits that a Premier League move would help to push forward his development.
He said: “The most important is the football education, I believe England would be the best option,” he said. “I have rejected clubs like Arsenal and Manchester United, who have invited me for trials.
“There is Real Madrid now, the club of my dreams – I am keen to go there, but I think I will turn it down, unfortunately.”
