Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are in high spirits after the Daily Mail revealed that the Reds are confident that they can beat Real Sociedad to Burnley’s Danny Ings.
The England under-21 star would be able to leave the Clarets on a free transfer, and he has promised to make a decision on his future at the end of the month.
Despite this, Liverpool will still have to pay a fee in the region of £5 million as compensation to Burnley due Ings being 22-years-old.
A couple of months ago, Ings was pictured catching a flight to Spain to see Real Sociedad manager David Moyes over a potential move to La Liga.
And it is believed the Scotsman made a very strong pitch to the striker as he tried to convince him a move to Spain would be better off for his career.
But it is now a waiting game for Brendan Rodgers as everyone anticipates Ings’ decision.
