Liverpool prepare part-exchange offer for AC Milan ace

Diego Lopez (Real Madrid)Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are in high spirits ahead of this evening’s League Cup clash and are reacting positively to a transfer report from the continent.

TalkSport, reporting via CalcioMercato, state that Liverpool are ready to use striker Mario Balotelli as part of a deal to bring Diego Lopez to Anfield in January.

Italian striker Balotelli returned on-loan to his former side in the summer, after struggling to make an impact upon his return to the Premier League, and would prefer to remain in his native country.

Meanwhile, Lopez’ injury absence has seen the meteoric rise of 16-year-old goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and the Spaniard faces a tough test to reclaim his spot in the first-team.

Should those woes continue, Lopez will consider an exit in January and could be lured to Merseyside– where Simon Mignolet has been criticised throughout his two-years at Chelsea so far.

However, our Liverpool regulars believe the Belgian is good enough for their ambitions and believe he has improved dramatically under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp.
