Liverpool supporting punters here inside the Football Transfer Tavern are looking closely at the news filtering in from the Express – with the publication suggesting that Liverpool are plotting a shock move for Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Rob Green.
This news has certainly caused a fracas here in the Transfer Tavern, with the resident Reds fans here admitting this would be a truly bizarre move for the club, and in truth, pretty pointless!
The media outlet suggests that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to add more competition to Simon Mignolet’s starting berth, and has seemingly earmarked former England international Rob Green as that man.
The publication also suggests that Palace are keen on a move for the veteran goalkeeper, and a handful of Palace fans over by the bar are shaking their heads in disarray!
Our landlord feels this move would be odd, because at the age of 35, the goalkeeper is far from young and is reaching the latter stages of his playing career. The landlord argues that Klopp should be going hammer and tong to try and secure a deal for Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen, as the 23-year-old looks like a keeper who could seriously flourish under Klopp at Anfield!
A handful of Liverpool fans over by the pool table here in the Tavern are only just getting over their 1-0 defeat at the hands of Man United on Sunday, and this news has not made their Monday any better!
Liverpool fans….. What do you make of this news? Could you envisage seeing Rob Green at Anfield? Let us know your thoughts and opinions below!
