Liverpool and Manchester United supporters in the Transfer Tavern don’t get on at the best of time but the latest reports have forced us to separate the two sets of fans, placing them on tables at opposite ends of the bar.
Spanish website Fichajes state that Liverpool have entered the running for the signature of Napoli’s 28-year-old forward Gonzalo Higuain, who is surrounded with fresh transfer speculation.
Higuain has endured success with the Naples-based outfit since moving to Italy from Real Madrid in 2013 but his tremendous goal tally hasn’t quite been enough to lift Napoli into Serie A title contention, whilst they failed to secure a spot in this season’s Champions League.
As such, the Argentine striker could be looking for a new club this summer and the Premier League is a highly reported destination, with Italian outlet Corriere Dello Sport stating earlier this week that Manchester United are preparing a £62m bid.
Things won’t be easy though, as Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain are both linked with his signature and our landlord has the French giants marked down as favourites to complete a deal.
Liverpool fans, is Higuain the sort of striker you need to finally replace Suarez? Let us know in the comments below!
