Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have their fingers crossed as they sink into their afternoon pints, with intriguing reports suggesting a solution to their striking woes.
The Times states that Jurgen Klopp is extremely keen on bringing Javier Hernandez back to the Premier League, with the Mexican international having scored 19 goals in all competitions for Bayer
Leverkusen this season.
27-year-old Hernandez was controversially allowed to leave Manchester United in the summer by manager Louis Van Gaal, who has since seen his forward options at the club struggle to provide the level of performance that they’re expected to.
Liverpool have also endured problems in front of goal this season, with £32.5m signing Christian Benteke failing to find his feet at Anfield, which has seen boss Klopp identify Hernandez as a prime target for the summer.
Hernandez has plenty of suitors in the Premier League, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur also holding interest in the forward, and United fans would experience a lot of pain if they saw their fan-favourite line-up for one of their bitter rivals.
Our landlord believes the Bundesliga side can’t hold onto Hernandez and that he’ll be back in England this summer.
Liverpool fans, can Hernandez fire you to Premier League glory? Let us know in the comments below!
