Liverpool ready to fight to land Manchester United target

Alex Song It’s been a big day for punters in the Football Transfer Tavern with a proper ‘Super Sunday’ entertaining locals all afternoon.

The first match saw Liverpool taking on Manchester United but before the match kicked off Jack Wilson from the Daily Star was at the bar claiming to punters that the two clubs are set for a transfer battle over former Arsenal midfielder Alex Song.

The Cameroon international has only made nine league starts for Barcelona this term and it is thought he is growing increasing frustrating with life at the Camp Nou.

We recently reported in the tavern that the 26-year-old plans to return to England in the future and it appears we could be set for an interesting transfer tussle between today’s two sides.

It is thought that the La Liga champions will let Song leave to the tune of £15 million and given his talents that would be a bargain for either prospective Premier League suitor.

His experience in England would make him a very attractive option for Moyes or Rodgers as they seek to strengthen in the summer.

Can you see Song heading back to the Premier League in the near future? Where will he end up, Old Trafford or Anfield? Let us know your thoughts below.
