Liverpool ready to let Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius depart

Liverpool have been enjoying the transfer window this summer as they look to build a squad capable of mounting a Premier League challenge.

The Reds performed well in the Champions League, having reached the final, however, their league and domestic cup form left Jurgen Klopp with a little to be desired at times.

The Anfield outfit have made a number of important additions to their squad already, which will no doubt help them to improve, with the likes of Alisson Becker, Fabinho and Naby Keita all joining so far.

Klopp is still expected to bring in an attacker to help bolster the frontline, however, it appears that a duo could be about to depart from Merseyside following the arrival of one man in particular.

According to a report in The Daily Mirror, Liverpool are considering to offload both Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius this summer, having signed Alisson for a world-record fee.

It is believed Barcelona are interested in the Belgium international, although they have been told it will cost them around £12million, whilst Karius’ blunders in the Champions League final appear to have ended his Anfield career.

The Verdict:

It does not come as a surprise that both ‘keepers could be heading for the exit door as both have failed to live up to the pressures.

With the arrival of Alisson, there would be just one place left for one, however, with both appearing to be allowed to leave and with Danny Ward having sealed a switch to Leicester City, there may be some concern that the club does not have a suitable backup.
