Liverpool ready to offload star-man for just £25m

Sturridge.jpgLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern spat out their pints in disbelief this afternoon after hearing that a key-player of theirs could be set to be offloaded.

The Daily Mirror states that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has become increasingly frustrated with Daniel Sturridge’s consistent injury problems and is prepared to offload the England international.

Sturridge, previously of Chelsea and Manchester City, has a decent record of 44 goals in 72 matches for the Reds but he’s played just 106 minutes of football since Klopp’s arrival, as he regularly misses matches through injury.

Last week Klopp revealed that Daniel Sturridge’s problems are so vast that he can’t even train extensively, as he said:

“Daniel had some problems, not serious, but could not make a session and we had to wait a day. It is how a pre-season can be. Some little things happen and we have to handle this. It is not a row of sessions and we say ‘Now we are here and go…’

“When he is fit, we will pick him, but at this moment because he didn’t have one session with the team he’s not available. I will pick him when he is ready, I will not hold him back. Because he didn’t have one session with the team it was not the usual plan for this week.”

With Sturridge regularly unavailable, our landlord believes cashing in whilst they can would be a good idea as Liverpool can get a fitter striker for their money.
