Former Borussia Dortmund boss Klopp is believed to be the preferred predecessor to Brendan Rodgers, who was sacked on Sunday after the 1-1 draw with Everton, and the German could be announced imminently.
Following this, CalcioMercato are reporting that one of Klopp’s old guard from Dortmund will follow suit; as the Reds line-up a January move to make Nevan Subotic the first of the German’s signings at Anfield.
The 26-year-old is a firm favourite of Klopp, who managed him at Mainz before bringing him to Dortmund, although Liverpool fans will be praying he can pull-off the seemingly impossible and lure Subotic’s defensive partner Mats Hummels to the North West.
Whilst our regulars are dreaming of that move, a transfer for Subotic seems more realistic and would provide a much-needed boost to Liverpool’s frail defensive line.
Liverpool fans, is Nevan Subotic a decent January target? Let us know in the comments below!
