Liverpool really need to offload £7.2m-rated forward now that Coutinho has gone too

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are upset to see Philippe Coutinho leave the club. The little Brazilian playmaker has departed to join Barcelona in a deal which sees him become the second most expensive player of all time.

It is a major blow for  Liverpool, who will need to replace his creativity in the team. But his exit could be the first of a few ahead of the summer transfer window.

Emre Can is expected to follow Liverpool out of the exit door this summer. But some players might leave before that.

One player who should think about a Liverpool exit during this month is Danny Ings. His career is clearly coming to a standstill after suffering a combination of bad injuries and a lack of chances.

With a number of players ahead of him in the attacking department, Ings needs to look away from Anfield. If he makes the right move in January, he could get his stalling career back on track.

The 25-year-old is clearly a talented goal scorer but he needs to be playing week in, week out to recapture some of the form he once showed at Bournemouth and then Burnley. There are a number of teams who would surely consider a swoop for Ings.

Ings, who is rated at £7.2m on Transfermarkt, would be a perfect addition for a team like Newcastle United, who desperately need a striker to score goals and fire them to safety. Whether it is a loan deal or a permanent one, Ings should definitely think about following Coutinho out of the exit door this January and leave Liverpool.
