The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are desperate for some good news at the moment…
It’s been a quiet few weeks on the transfer front for the Reds, and the only noise that has been made is with regards to an outgoing player.
Coutinho’s future continues to look uncertain (TV3 via Sport) at present, and with the prospect of him leaving becoming a very sad potential reality for the fans in the Transfer Tavern, they’ve really needed some cheering up over the last few days.
Fortunately, Jurgen Klopp has finally given fans something to smile about ahead of their clash with Crystal Palace – with the German confirming that Daniel Sturridge looks set to be available to feature against the Eagles this weekend.
Sturridge missed the opening week of the season through injury, which was concerning given his recent injury record. He appears to have bounced back quickly, though, and so that’s good news for the Reds.
Crystal Palace will be a tough opponent, and so Jurgen Klopp needs all the firepower that he can get.
Roberto Firmono had a tough opening day, and so a bit of extra competition could do him the world of good.
Sturridge is unlikely to start the game, given his lack of match fitness, but even a 20 minute cameo towards the end of the game could shift the result in Liverpool’s favour.
