Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are keeping their fingers crossed for exciting additions this week, which is making their latest round of darts very entertaining to watch.
There seems to be some good news on the transfer front though, as The Mirror state Liverpool have received a boost in the race for Marc-Andre Ter Stegan as the German star wants to leave Barcelona in search of first-team football.
Despite helping Barcelona to Champions League success last season, Ter Stegan has played second-fiddle to Claudio Bravo this term and has seen his first-team opportunities diminish as a result.
With the European Championships this summer rapidly approaching, Ter Stegan wants to leave to increase his chances of landing a spot in Germany’s squad for the tournament.
Liverpool would have to pay around £20m for the goalkeeper’s services but convincing Barcelona to sell will be a daunting task, as the Catalan giants rate Ter Stegan highly and value him as the long-term first-choice goalkeeper at the Nou Camp.
Our landlord believes Liverpool must move swiftly to land Ter Stegan as there will be hefty competition for the German’s signature and he’s urged Klopp to lure his compatriot to Anfield.
