Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have their fingers and toes crossed this morning, after hearing a star player is set for an imminent return.
The Daily Mirror state that England international Daniel Sturridge has returned to full training, though Jurgen Klopp is yet to make a decision as to whether to use the player against his former side Manchester City on Saturday.
Sturridge took part in his first training session yesterday, after recovering from an ankle injury, but German manager Klopp is unsure whether to risk the player for this weekend’s crucial Premier League clash.
With a nightmare run of injuries over the past 15 months, Liverpool are wary of bringing Sturridge back to the fold too soon and will monitor the striker as the week progresses.
Liverpool fans do want to see the £12m signing feature regularly again soon though, with the former Citizens forward netting two goals in three appearances this season and he’s yet to play alongside summer signing Christian Benteke.
The Reds’ hopes of Champions League football next season would be provided with a major boost if they were to get a positive result against Manchester City this weekend and it’s clear Liverpool are a better side with Sturridge in the team.
Liverpool fans, should Sturridge be risked this weekend? Can you overcome Manchester City without him? Let us know in the comments below!
