The Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern thought that he could have been the difference maker against Man Utd…
After a relatively underwhelming start at Liverpool, Georginio Wijnaldum has really grown into a crucial cog in Jurgen Klopp’s midfield machine.
The ex-Newcastle man was brought in over the summer and over the last few weeks has begun to dominate games from the middle of the park.
However, the Dutchman suffered an injury whilst representing his country, which at least temporarily, put the brakes on his rise to stardom at Liverpool.
He missed the crunch Liverpool clash against Man Utd on Monday as a result, and Jurgen Klopp’s team suffered as a result.
They looked outmanned and overrun in the middle of the park in his absence, as the Liverpool faithful in the Tavern began to realise just how much he offers the team.
Now, ahead of what some in the Tavern are describing as a must-win game against West Brom, the Liverpool faithful in attendance have received a huge boost.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Dutchman has returned to training this week with a view to returning at the weekend – with Jurgen Klopp likely delighted at the news.
He provides so much in the middle of the park for the Reds, and he has quickly become a fan favourite amongst the punters in the Football Transfer Tavern.
