Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are laughing at the news in The Express that Olympiakos have made a shock loan bid for their struggling striker Mario Balotelli.
The Greek giants are ambitiously attempting to bring the misfiring Italian striker to the Karaiskakis Stadium and they are hoping Liverpool will temporarily let them have his services until the end of the 2014/15 campaign.
The former Manchester City man only joined the Reds in the summer for £16 million but has struggled to find his feet with the Kop hoping he could replace a fraction of Luis Suarez’s goal haul last term.
Balotelli has found himself in the spotlight on more than one occasion this term and with Daniel Sturridge being out injured and with Divock Origi returning next summer, his future at Anfield is in the balance.
But punters in the tavern believe that Brendan Rodgers has made it a challenge for himself to get Balotelli back into his goalscoring form, which he displayed in glimpses at both Inter Milan and City.
Liverpool fans. Do you think Mario Balotelli will survive at Liverpool next summer or will he be sacrificed to make way for fresh faces? Let us know your thoughts below.
