Liverpool are set for an exciting summer and their supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are keen to see what sort of players they can attract now they are back in the Champions League.
The Reds secured a top four finish in the Barclays Premier League last season and boss Jurgen Klopp must now ensure that the squad is well stocked in all areas ahead of a foray into European football’s top competition.
One man who could have an uncertain future at the club is midfielder Emre Can, with the German about to enter the final year of his contract at the club.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Jurgen Klopp remains relaxed regarding the player’s contract and the ex-Dortmund manager apparently remains convinced that the 23-year-old wants to commit his future to the Premier League club.
It seems natural that the current situation regarding Can’s contract might alert clubs in his native Germany and the news has got some of the Liverpool fans in the Tavern feeling a little bit nervous.
One fan in particular is about to tuck into his Sunday lunch and he thinks that Can is the sort of player that could spearhead the Reds’ midfield for years to come.
Another remains less convinced and as he sips his glass of red wine he states that if Can doesn’t want to commit to the club then he should be sold this summer to raise funds for players that are dedicated to the Liverpool cause.
