After a poor week on the transfer front for the Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern, many are simply desperate for Jurgen Klopp to get something done as soon as possible…
In that sense, a report from the Sun – suggesting that the Reds have been offered a player this summer – may please them, but unfortunately, all is not exactly as it seems. According to the Sun, Liverpool have indeed been offered midfielder Emre Mor this summer, but current side Borussia Dortmund are only said to be looking for a loan deal, which Liverpool are interested in, though the Reds are said to also want an option to buy upon the end of the deal.
Mor has enjoyed somewhat of a breakout year over the last 12 months, featuring in 12 games in the Bundesliga last season.
Whilst Liverpool fans may be disappointed, given that Mor certainly does not carry the star power of Virgil van Dijk, our landlord has implored them to think about this deal in a more literal sense. An impressive midfielder, Mor is particularly lethal going forward, even picking up his first Bundesliga goal last season.
An excellent dribbler, Mor is often very difficult to dispossess, whilst his passing and shooting ability is also particularly impressive.
Klopp, of course, must be trusted in this instance, not least because of his relationship with Borussia Dortmund. Having previously managed the club, the German is clearly well versed in Dortmund’s youth system, and so he likely will be well aware of Mor’s qualities.
That being said, our landlord thinks that Liverpool need to start targeting a few big names sooner, rather than later.
