Liverpool reportedly ‘expected’ to agree deal for £29.75m-rated attacker this summer, talks ongoing

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are still waiting for news of a major arrival at Anfield…

To make matters worse for them, it looks like they will have to do a fair bit of waiting yet – with the Liverpool Echo reporting that the Reds have yet to agree a deal to sign Mohamed Salah, though it is noted that talks are progressing. It isn’t all bad news, though, with the publication also stating that Liverpool are ‘expected’ to agree the deal eventually, it just remains to be seen how long the process will take.

This news has drawn mixed reviews in the Transfer Tavern, with the general consensus being that the Reds are taking far too long to get the deal done. Of course, there are still several months to get as many transfers completed as they feel sufficient, but Liverpool appear desperate to land Salah – and placing all of their eggs into one basket could come back to bite them eventually.

That being said, there does appear to have been some progress in discussions, and whichever way you spin it, that can only be perceived as good news. Salah, who is rated at £29.75m by Transfer Markt, bagged 15 goals alongside 11 assists domestically last season, and so it is clear just how much he will bring to the Reds’ first team.

In truth, the Liverpool fans in the pub just want this deal done, as many are desperate to see Salah – with his electric pace – line up alongside Sadio Mane.
