The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are still hoping for a couple of big additions this summer…
The signing of Mohamed Salah has certainly signalled the intentions of Jurgen Klopp, but with sides like Man Utd, Chelsea and Man City investing heavily this summer – the Reds must continue in a similar vein.
Jurgen Klopp, then, will need to single out a couple of big name targets over the coming weeks, and according to Le 10 Sport, he has already done just that.
Le 10 Sport report that with Philippe Coutinho potentially set to leave Liverpool this summer, the Reds could launch a move for Monaco ace Thomas Lemar as a direct replacement. Though no move has been made as of yet, it is said that Lemar is a concrete target, and should a deal for Coutinho through, a move for Lemar will follow shortly thereafter.
It would certainly be an audacious move, given how impressive Lemar, who is rated at £20.4m by Transfer Markt, has been as of late, but he is a player that would fit in at Anfield seamlessly.
An exciting attacker, he is direct and fast, and he proved his worth as one of Monaco’s most important players last season.
Liverpool have been relatively quiet in comparison to their rivals this summer, but a move for Lemar would blow them all out of the water.
Coutinho’s departure would certainly be a big loss for the Reds, but Lemar is every bit as good. He bagged 9 goals and 10 assists last season and was instrumental as Monaco won Ligue 1.
He’ll be tough to sign, but a move would be fantastic.
