Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern will want to see a number of improvements next season as they look to compete for the Premier League title.
The Reds are currently preparing for a Champions League final with Real Madrid in Kiev on Saturday, but a number of the locals will want to see the side be strengthened this summer.
Jurgen Klopp has been busy making a number of movements in the window already and this week he has strongly been linked with a move for Olympique de Lyonnais’ Nabil Fekir, a move that continues to gather momentum.
According to a report in the Daily Mail, the Reds are stepping up their efforts in trying to bring the Frenchman to Anfield in the summer.
Obviously, the European final will be taking precedence, but this is an interesting insight into Liverpool’s summer plans.
The Reds in the Tavern will be hoping they can get a deal for the Lyon hitman sorted, despite the continued silence on the prospect of any possible deal.
The locals in the bar will want to see more depth added to the squad as they look to challenge their rivals in the Premier League, although a forward may not be the main priority.
Liverpool have been impacted in the midfield area mostly this year with a number of long-term injuries and with the imminent departure of Emre Can to Juventus, Klopp should turn his attention to bringing in someone who can be an engine for the team in the middle of the park.
That said, a player like Fekir doesn’t come on the market very often, and so if he’s available, a move – naturally – makes sense.
