The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are holding out hope that a move for Naby Keita could still happen this summer…
The Reds desperately need a bit of midfield depth, and Keita brought so much quality for RB Leipzig last season, so a move definitely makes sense.
With little progress on a deal for much of the campaign, thoughts amongst some supporters have been turning to other players over the last few days, but according to the Mirror, there is still hope that a move could happen. The Mirror reports that Liverpool are to make a final offer for Keita, with a move likely to shatter the £70 million barrier – subsequently doubling their current transfer record. It is noted that Jurgen Klopp, in particular, is keen to get this deal done as he looks to improve his side.
Liverpool are clearly refusing to take no for an answer, but with a couple of weeks to go until the start of the Premier League season, decision time is quickly approaching for the club.
The fans in the Transfer Tavern are keen for this deal to get done, but are concerned that their side is running out of time.
Keita is a top player, but there has to be a few question marks over the numbers being mentioned. £70 million is an extraordinary amount of money, and whilst Keita is great, he has only had one season at the highest level – meaning that this deal is a bit of a risk for the Reds.
Still, a player of his quality is certainly needed, and our landlord is one to trust the genius of Jurgen Klopp. The German has done everything right so far, so he definitely deserves backing.
This deal isn’t going away, so there is clearly something going on, and Liverpool appear desperate to get their man. Anything could happen.
