Liverpool reportedly ‘willing’ to open talks about new deal for Anfield’s brightest star

Liverpool fans here in the Tavern are over the moon with some of their summer signings, although success at the highest level can lead to interest from elsewhere.

The Reds made one of the best business decisions in the club’s long and illustrious history when they decided to bring Mohamed Salah to Anfield, in a move that’s seen Liverpool reap endless rewards this season with a potential Kop legend on the cards. Although, with the Egyptian establishing himself as one of the world’s best attackers, the Reds will be looking to make swift movements in regards to nailing down a new contract for the winger. And, according to reports from Bleacher Report, sources close to the club have suggested that they are already ‘willing’ to talk about improvements on his contract.

Indeed, with ongoing speculation from Real Madrid about bringing Mohamed Salah to the Bernabeu, a summer move for the Egyptian is something that Los Blancos have labelled as a necessity. And, who can blame them, as the Reds forward has enjoyed the best footballing year in his entire career after securing awards for; African Player of the Year, BBC African Footballer of the Year, Premier League Player of the Month and currently has the upper hand in securing the Golden Boot.

Indeed, with him currently sitting on £90,000 a week with Liverpool, you’d think that a raise in the salary of the Egyptian would be warranted after becoming one of the best players in the Premier League this season. However, money won’t be the main aim of the 25-year-old with the club’s ambitions appealing to the future success that Salah very much craves. And, with Real Madrid looking worse for wear both in Europe and domestically this season, who’s to say a move to sunny Spain would benefit the Egyptian.

Landlord’s Verdict:

A new contract is a must for the Egyptian after establishing himself as one of the in-form players in the whole of world football, and with the money arriving at Anfield after Philippe Coutinho’s departure, there’s the ability to match whatever Salah desires. Nevertheless, a player that’s pivotal to the future progression of the club, with the attacker’s goalscoring form being something that they must keep hold of at all costs.
