Liverpool revive interest as prime target becomes available

Martin MontoyaLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are reacting to positive news that has emerged, giving them a boost in their quest to sign a long-term target.

The Daily Mirror states that Barcelona prospect Martin Montoya could have his loan spell at Inter Milan ended early, which would then make the defender available for another loan move until the end of the season.

24-year-old Montoya has not proved useful to Roberto Mancini, failing to make a single Serie A appearance for the title chasers this season, and has endured a difficult time in Italy.

Liverpool have revived their interest in the full-back due to the developing situation and would be favourites to secure his signature in the New Year, with Montoya unlikely to earn any opportunities backl at Barcelona.

Dani Alves is the first-choice right-back at the club and summer signing Aleix Vidal will be available in the New Year, pushing Montoya further down the pecking order and closer to the exit door.

Liverpool fans, would Montoya be a good signing? Let us know in the comments below!
