Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are extremely fed-up with incapable strikers at Anfield, having watched Rickie Lambert, Mario Balotelli and Fabio Borini do barely anything up-top throughout last season.
The regulars have raised concerns regarding £10m striker Divock Origi, believing he’s not worth two-bob, but Brendan Rodgers disagrees and has ruled out sending the young Belgian away on-loan when the winter transfer window arrives.
Origi impressed in the 2014 World Cup before signing for the Reds, though he spent the last season on-loan at Lille. Since returning this summer he’s failed to impress at Anfield but Rodgers is quoted by TalkSport as defending the misfiring forward.
“It just takes time to adapt. He’s a young player who has excellent qualities.”
The lads waiting for the loo don’t agree with this decision and believe he could do with a further spell away from Merseyside, preferably in England, where he can develop with more game time and less pressure.
Given Liverpool’s performances this season though, we’d say the Reds need all the help they can get…
