Liverpool will have been impressed by a player’s performance in the Champions League on Tuesday night if rumours are to be correct.

It is understood that the Premier League outfit had sent scouts to watch Kerem Demirbay in action for Hoffenheim against Olympique de Lyonnais, according to reports by Turkish-Football.

The media outlet have claimed in the past that Jurgen Klopp is interested in bringing the Germany international to Anfield and has been keeping close tabs on the player.

The 25-year-old has been in fine form since returning from injury for the Bundesliga outfit, which has also attracted the attention from other sides as well.

Despite having signed a new contract to remain with Hoffenheim, it is also believed that he has a minimum fee release clause of just £28million (€32m), as per Bild, which would be considered a bargain in today’s transfer market for a player of Demirbay’s quality.

The Verdict:

Demirbay is certainly a quality player and could give Liverpool an extra creative option to help take the Anfield outfit to the next level.

The midfielder has created three assists in his last four matches for Hoffenheim and makes a number of driving runs from the middle of the field, which could make him an even more attractive option.

Klopp and the 25-year-old know each other well as both spent time at Borussia Dortmund together, which the German manager may look to use to his advantage if other clubs come calling for him, especially with a fee of just £28m required.
