That is because according to the Daily Star, Liverpool are interested in signing 27-year-old Italian international midfielder Antonio Candreva who has attracted attention from a host of European clubs.
The Reds were linked with the move earlier this summer but they ended their interest when Napoli president Claudio Lotito ruled out a move.
But it now looks as though Brendan Rodgers will make another move for the versatile midfielder in January.
Napoli will be reluctant to let Candreva leave, however they could be forced to sell the former Udinese star if Liverpool firm up their interest.
The midfielder is craving a move to play in the Champions League and expressed that desire in a recent interview with Italian press.
He said: “A player’s ambitions are to do good things and to play at the best clubs and to play in the Champions League.
“I hope to play a good World Cup, then I’ll be happy about what will happen.”
