The Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate for the start of the new season with the Reds back in the Champions League, and they cannot wait to see the names who will arrive off the back of that achievement.
The Merseysiders have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang as manager Jurgen Klopp looks to add some firepower to his attacking line with an old favourite.
The 28-year-old scored 41 goals in just under 100 appearances for the now Liverpool boss back in Germany, however, the Reds may be facing a tough battle to land a deal.
According to reports from L’Equipe (via AS) Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are also considering a move for the the Dortmund striker, as their interest in Chelsea’s Diego Costa wavers.
The Reds, however, do hold an advantage over Diego Simeone’s side in that the Spaniards have a transfer embargo in place until January.
Our landlord reckons that, despite any promises offered from Madrid, should a firm offer come in from Anfield then the Gabon international would rather make the move than wait until January.
Liverpool fans, we want to hear from you! Do you think that Klopp will make the move for Aubameyang? Let us know…
