Liverpool set to end interest in full-back unless Leicester drop asking price

ChilwellLiverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are disappointed to hear that their interest in a talented young asset could be drawn to a close, with the Reds unprepared to pay the required price to land his services.

The Liverpool Echo states the Reds are set to end their interest in Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell, unless the Premier League champions reduce their demands for the talented young defender.

Chilwell is regarded as one of the brightest young prospects within Britain but Liverpool will not be held to ransom, having already seen a bid of £5m plus £2m in add-ons rejected by Claudio Ranieri’s title winning heroes.

The player is believed to be keen on a move to Anfield, where he could oust Spaniard Alberto Moreno from a starting spot, but Leicester’s reluctance to negotiate means the player is likely to see out the final 12 months of his deal.

Our landlord believes Liverpool’s stance is correct though, as 19-year-old Chilwell is yet to make a single Premier League appearance and is untested.

Liverpool fans, is this a good stance from your club? Let us know in the comments below!
