Liverpool could be about to make a late bid to rival Arsenal for Leicester City hotshot Jamie Vardy, according to the Daily Star.
The news has alerted the Liverpool faithful who have congressed here in the Transfer Tavern, with many supporters now relishing the prospect of their team signing Vardy.
The report claims that the Reds have been tracking Vardy for almost two years and they will now decide during Euro 2016 whether to match the striker’s release clause of £20 million themselves.
Vardy was instrumental for the Foxes last season as they collected a surprise Premier League title and his 24 goals have seen him become a regular name in the England squad also.
One Liverpool fan is about to take part in the Thursday night game of card bingo here in the Tavern and he thinks Liverpool would do well to sign Vardy considering they are not in Europe, although he does believe that the striker would strengthen the Reds in attack.
Liverpool fans, what do you make to this news? Would Vardy improve the squad? Who else should the club look to sign? Let us know in the comments below!
