Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are not sure if this is the right move for the club after the Daily Star revealed that they are looking to offload Mario Balotelli to raise funds to sign Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao.
Brendan Rodgers understands that if the Reds are to compete with the top four next season, they must sign another world-class striker, because they dropped off the pace when Daniel Sturridge was unavailable.
Rodgers initially thought that Balotelli would fill this void but he has failed to deliver and has been considered as a flop.
Sampdoria have confirmed they are interested in the striker but he must take a pay cut to make the move, or Liverpool may choose to pay part of his wages.
He would join former Barcelona and Inter Milan forward Samuel Eto’o, who moved to Serie A from Everton last January.
But is Falcao the man to fire Liverpool back to glory or is it obvious that he does not have the qualities to perform in the Premier League?
