Liverpool set to hand 26-year-old midfielder a new deal, thwarting La Liga interest

Bring back Joe Allen The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern are still buzzing following their 2-1 away win at Bournemouth yesterday afternoon and the victory leaves their team just nine points away from the top four.

Whilst the top four is unlikely this season, boss Jurgen Klopp will be hoping to assemble a squad that is capable of challenging next season during the summer months.

One man who could be part of the German boss’ squad next season is in-form midfielder Joe Allen, with the Daily Star reporting that the Wales international could be about to sign a new deal with the Reds.

Allen had been linked with a move away from the Premier League club during the summer, with the player set to enter the final 12 months of his current deal, although it now appears fresh terms could be discussed.

One Liverpool fan is still nursing a weekend hangover after a heavy couple of nights in the Tavern and he thinks Allen deserves a new deal, stating his form of late has been incredible.

Liverpool fans, would you keep Allen on? Could he play a vital role next season?
