Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have their fingers crossed after hearing on talkSPORT that Juventus are set for talks with Borussia Dortmund over attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Reds have shown an interest in the star before and there is belief in the Tavern that due to Dortmund’s dismal season they would stand a better chance of landing the 26-year-old.
But now they fear that Juve are in pole position as they are looking to make the first move.
The Italian giants have scouted Mkhitaryan in the past, but last night they witnessed him first hand, after he started in Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat to Juventus in the Champions League.
A fee of around £12m has been floating around the Tavern but this would be a huge loss for the struggling German side after they forked out £24 million when they signed him from Shakhtar Donetsk in 2013.
He is a goalscoring midfielder, who would settle in well at Anfield as he can chip in with goals, as well as his incredible eye for a pass.
