Liverpool set to miss out on deal for highly-rated French forward

RodgersLiverpool fans have already been lucky enough to welcome many new attacking options to Anfield this summer, including the likes of Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino.

However it appears that Brendan Rodgers doesn’t want to stop there, and had been chasing the signature of the highly rated French frontman, Alexander Lacazette.

This rumour had really been getting the Reds fans cheery in the Transfer Tavern but news today has dampened those high spirits somewhat.

The Telegraph are reporting that the chase of the striker is all but over after the French International, who scored 27 goals last term, penned a new deal at his current club Lyon.

With Fabio Borini looking set to exit the Merseyside club and persistent injuries to Daniel Sturridge, the Liverpool boss may still try and pull off an audacious bid.

Our Landlord isn’t too sure if its worth it: “I think the Reds should stick with what they have got, and to bring in the French lad now, they would have to overpay – no point i say!”

What do you think Liverpool fans? Would you like to see Brendan put in a big money bid for Lacazette? How much would he cost? Let us know below!
