Liverpool set to rival Porto for 28-year-old midfielder

Fernando The Liverpool supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern are eagerly anticipating their Europa League second leg tie with Manchester United this evening, with the Reds holding a two-goal advantage following last week’s first leg.

With the Europa League seen as a huge chance to secure a Champions League berth for next season, the Reds faithful are hopeful that their team can go far in the competition.

Boss Jurgen Klopp faces a big summer, as he looks to revamp a Liverpool squad which has under performed during the current campaign.

Our landlord has spotted a piece in today’s edition of The Sun, which claims that the Reds are in for Manchester City defensive midfielder Fernando, and are looking to rival his former club Porto during the summer.

The 28-year-old has found first-team football hard to come by this season and with Pep Guardiola arriving at City this summer, it is likely that he will find himself down the pecking order.

One Liverpool fan is sat with his burger and pint meal deal and he believes that Fernando would be a fairly decent signing for Liverpool, but does concede that other positions need strengthening before the centre of midfield.
