Liverpool set to seal cut price transfer

aspas.jpgLiverpool fans are looking rather pleased with themselves here at the Football Transfer Tavern as it has been claimed by Caught Offside that the club are looking to secure a bargain deal for a La Liga star.

The club have been linked with Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas for some time now and it seems that this summer they are finally set to land the player in a cut price £5 million deal.

This is in no small part due to the relegation issues that Celta are currently facing and is in no way a reflection on the talent possessed by the 25-year-old who scored 23 goals during the side’s promotional campaign to La Liga last season and has netted an impressive 11 times this term – something made even more notable given the dreadful form shown by the relegation threatened side.

Brendan Rodgers feels that the player could well add the spark and creativity his side are missing and is willing to pay the asking price for the player yet feels that should Celta succumb to the drop, he could get him for slightly less.  Given the success of once little known Michu, Rodgers feels that Aspas can replicate this and is keen to land the player despite competition from a host of other clubs both in La Liga and the rest of Europe.

Is Aspas coming to Anfield this summer? Rate this rumour below.
