Liverpool are set to press ahead with a move for Cologne goalkeeper Timo Horn, after the player refused to comment on speculation surrounding his future, according to The Mirror.
This news has delighted the contingent of Liverpool fans scattered around the Transfer Tavern, with the Reds’ need for a new stopper a high priority for the summer months.
The 22-year-old has a £7 million release clause in his contract with the German club and his recent comments indicate that a move to the club he supported as a boy could take place.
Speaking to football website The Set Pieces, Horn said: “We will see.
“Right now my heart is in Cologne, I will sit down with the manager and chief executive at the end of the season and see what happens next.”
One Liverpool fan is sat in the Tavern with his beer and a burger meal deal and he believes Horn would be a great signing for the club, stating that he would be a much better option than Simon Mignolet!
Liverpool fans, what would Horn offer the club? Can he become the club’s number one for years to come?
