Liverpool should attempt to sign £54m-rated attacker to put extra pressure on Salah and Mane

The Liverpool attack is up there with the most potent in Europe, with Roberto Firmino flanked by the duo of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane – all of whom have been sensational this term.

However, beyond the duo of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah, the Reds don’t have too many options out wide, and that’s a problem for Jurgen Klopp. Particularly given the vast quantity of games that Jurgen Klopp will be contending with next season, extra depth is quality, and so bringing in someone that can give that duo a run for their money makes perfect sense.

One player that could be perfect for that is Napoli attacker Lorenzo Insigne, who is rated at a whopping £54 million by Transfer Markt. Particularly potent on the left-hand side, the Italian is able to play across the attack, and so he would be able to challenge for either position.

He’s been potent over in Serie A this season, having contributed 8 goals and 9 assists in 34 league appearances, highlighting Napoli’s dependence on him.

A brilliant passer and dribbler, Insigne often finds himself at the centre of attacks, even if he doesn’t get the glory quite as often as Mohamed Salah. He’s often the player that features just prior to that final pass, which though takes away from his stats, indicates just how important he is to this team.

He’s also got decent pace, and his driving runs make him a real threat going forward, and so much like Mane and Salah, he’d be a real threat down the flanks.

Liverpool have a fantastic core group of players, but now it’s time for Jurgen Klopp to invest in strength in depth, and a move for Insigne would seriously make his life tough as he looks to select his weekly team. That’s what he needs, though, with Insigne exactly what Klopp should be looking for this summer.
