Liverpool should bolster title chances with summer move for 30-year-old midfielder

The Liverpool fans here in the Transfer Tavern have been in pretty good spirits during the current campaign and they are extremely hopeful that the Reds will finish the job and qualify for next season’s Champions League by securing a top four finish.

Over the years the Liverpudlian supporters have often been left taking lots of stick from their Manchester United counterparts during heavy drinking sessions in the Tavern and the long-suffering Reds are hopeful that the roles could be about to reverse.

One thing that will need to happen should Jurgen Klopp oversee the Reds’ return to the Champions League is the recruitment of better players during the summer, to give the team the very best chance of success on all fronts during next season.

Our resident DJ here in the Tavern has spotted an article this week, with The Daily Star suggesting that Liverpool could swoop for Chelsea star Cesc Fabregas should the Spaniard opt to depart Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Having heard this news I can’t help but feel that this move could be mightily beneficial for all parties and Liverpool should certainly look to press ahead with the deal.

As one of our regulars here in the Tavern rightly points out the central midfielder is a natural-born winner and his title-winning expertise would make him a valuable asset for Liverpool next season.

Fabregas will probably cost a tidy sum if the Reds are to pull off this magnificent deal, although there is little doubting that the Chelsea player arriving at Anfield would enhance the club’s chance of winning the league.

Liverpool fans, do you agree that this would be a good deal? Which other players should the club be pursuing? Let us know in the comments below!!!
