Liverpool fans are buzzing at their early business in the transfer window – our punters are hopeful the club can challenge for the title next season if they continue to add key signings.
Following their defeat in the Champions League final, the Reds responded with completing their first summer signing. Monaco midfielder Fabinho penned a long-term deal on Merseyside for a reported £40m and will link up with RB Leipzig’s Naby Keita who will finalise his move on July 1. Our regulars are excited to see the pair in the engine room next year.
Liverpool’s spending is expected to continue with Jurgen Klopp eager to add some much-needed squad depth. Attack will be an area of concern due to the little quality on offer when Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino or Mohamed Salah are missing. Now, the Reds need to add some creativity when without their top trio.
One man Klopp should target is Bayer Leverkusen winger – Leon Bailey. The 20-year-old has emerged as one of the world’s hottest prospects following his breakthrough season in the Bundesliga. The Jamaican winger has netted 12 goals in all competitions, and his showings has seen his market value skyrocketed to £40.5m according to Transfermarkt. Bailey is lighting quick and has tons of tricks which make him a defender’s nightmare. He can play on either wing, making him a versatile option and someone who would excite the Anfield faithful.
The Reds would face competition from all of Europe for his services but would be making one of the club’s best moves in the transfer market if they landed his signature.
