The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern tonight are growing more concerned by the minute, at their lack of activity in the market since Salah’s arrival.
Everyone seems to have forgotten that Liverpool have quite a big issue with their squad at the moment, their goalkeeper.
Loris Karius was signed this time last year as a solution to those problems and in the end, Simon Mignolet earned back his spot in the side.
Both keepers are average at best, they can be used in domestic cup ties or when a number one needs a rest. But you’re never going to win the league with either of those men in goal.
So, who should Klopp go for to fix his keeper troubles? Jack Butland.
The fact that Butland is still playing at Stoke shocks our landlord and it would be no surprise if he could be lured away to a bigger club.
Some rumours are circulating that Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are interested in his services so Liverpool should act fast and try and tempt the England international to Merseyside.
He is easily one of the best keepers in the league and much better than the current options at the club.
He may have to be paid a bit more to outprice the likes of United but in the long run, if he can help Liverpool to their first ever Premier League title, his wages won’t really matter.
Butland will surely be leaving Stoke soon, it would be a crime if he spent the rest of his playing days at Stoke, so Liverpool should get in there as soon as possible and beat their rivals to the punch.
They’re only a few more good players away from mounting a serous title challenge and Butland could be one of those players.
