Liverpool kept their title hopes well and truly going with a 0-0 draw with rivals Man City today.

Despite the build up, the game never really got going, and but for a Riyad Mahrez missed penalty, there was little for either side to shout home about.

One plus though for the Reds was another clean sheet, and key to that has been summer signing Allisson, who has been manning the sticks with aplomb since making the move from Roma.

However, with Simon Mignolet waiting in the wings, if Allisson was to get a knock, we at the Tavern aren't feeling too confident about the Belgians ability to replace the Brazilian.

That's why we here at the Tavern think the club need to be making a move for Stoke City 'keeper Jack Butland, who against all the odds, stayed with the Potters over the summer.

Valued at a whopping £22m by Transfermarkt, the young England 'keeprs has been a regular once again this season.

Butland will want his move back to the Premier League if he can get it though, and a move to Liverpool to become number two to a world class stopper could well appeal.

Regular football might well be on his mind, but with Liverpool competing across all fronts this season it would seem, there would be plenty of minutes for Butland, and he would every chance of landing a precious Premier League winners medal.

Reds fans, what do you think? Would Butland be a good signing? Let us know in the comments!
