Liverpool look a real threat heading into the new Premier League season, with manager Jurgen Klopp adding a whole host of impressive new signings to his squad.
Last season’s Champions League runners up will be hoping to go one better this time out, while the Reds will also be hoping to close the gap on Man City at the top of the Premier League table.
The additions of the likes of Naby Keita, Fabinho, and Alisson in goal will no doubt improve the Liverpool squad no end, and it would be a fair assessment to say that anything other than a serious challenge for the title could be considered a failure at the end of the campaign.
However, we here at the Transfer Tavern are not so sure that Liverpool’s spending is over, and there might well be one or two more additions made before the end of the transfer window.
One player think would be an excellent addition and would no doubt relish a second chance at the English game is Lyon winger Memphis Depay, who has really come into his own since making the move to the French club following his failed stint at Manchester United.
The £40.5m-rated forward has been simply superb over in Ligue 1, and he would surely jump at the chance of returning to the Premier League, albeit with United’s greatest rivals.
Depay has really developed, and his pace, finishing, and set piece ability mark him out as one of the most dangerous players in Europe at the moment. A goal or an assist every two games only further highlights his ability, and he would be a superb signing who can step in for the likes of Sadio Mane and Mo Salah when needed.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know in the comments!
