Liverpool should look to sign 21-year-old defender from fierce rivals this summer

The Liverpool supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been pretty satisfied with their team so far this season and they are hopeful that a return to the Champions League will see them compete to sign Europe’s very best players during the summer.

The resident army of Reds fans are hopeful that the club can have a better squad during the 2017/18 campaign and they are of the belief that a top four finish and a return to the Champions League would enable them to secure some really talented performers.

One area of the pitch that the club clearly needs to strengthen in is at left-back, with James Milner operating in the role for the majority of this season offering an unbalanced feel to the back four.

Luke Shaw looks to be out of favour at Liverpool’s rivals Manchester United and should the Reds secure a top four finish then they could do a lot worse than make a move for the former Southampton man.

The 21-year-old has played just 11 games for the Red Devils this season which for a player with such high potential simply isn’t enough and if the Red Devils don’t qualify for the Champions League, a move to Liverpool could look quite appealing to Shaw.

One Liverpool supporter is sat at the landlord’s cocktail bar ordering himself another¬†drink and he thinks that Shaw signing for the club would be a long shot, although he does concede that a top quality left-back should be the club’s priority this summer.

Liverpool fans, would you welcome Shaw to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
