Liverpool will be looking to build towards more success next season with the Champions League firmly back in their minds after securing qualification for Europe’s premier competition once more.
Under Jurgen Klopp, the Reds have made steady progress, and the culmination of that progress resulting in a place back in the top four will have been very pleasing for the German manager.
The Liverpool faithful here in the Tavern have all come back indoors this week, with the weather changing for the worse, and this has given our landlord chance to catch up with them at the bar and discuss summer transfers.
With the capture of Mo Salah already secured from Roma, one player our landlord thinks could do a solid job is another Roma man, Kevin Strootman.
The Dutch midfielder has been a regular for the Italian’s since joining the club from PSV in 2013, and his form has not gone unnoticed, with the player often linked with at least one English club every transfer window.
Strootman offers something which Liverpool potentially lack in the middle of the park, with his ability to control a game and his dominating presence somewhat off putting for opposition players.
Added to this, he is also a top class footballer with the ball at his feet, and he would be a shrewd acquisition to the Premier League and Liverpool.
Liverpool fans, what do you think to Strootman? Would he be a good signing? Let us know!
