Liverpool are firmly preparing for life back in the Champions League under Jurgen Klopp, with fans fully expecting the club to make a decent fist of winning Europe’s premier competition for a sixth time.
Last season saw continued improved for Klopp’s Liverpool, and the likes of Coutinho, Firmino, and Mane were crucial to their success.
Next season will represent a different challenge, and despite the big money signing of Mo Salah from Roma, the Reds fans and our landlord here in the Tavern are predicting even more movement in the market during the summer.
One position which needs adding to is in defence, and one player our landlord thinks would be an excellent addition is Brighton man Lewis Dunk.
The 25-year-old was a colossus for the Seagulls last term as they won promotion to the Premier League under Chris Hughton, and his stock continues to rise year on year.
Dunk is a commanding presence at the back, and looks to have all the attributes to be a top defender in the Premier League. He will be buoyed by the likes of Michael Keane and Harry Maguire impressing and securing big money moves, and a move to Liverpool could well tempt him.
The Reds themselves need to add some height and presence to their defence, and the capture of a player like Dunk would certainly please fans. There’s little doubt he can step up to the top level, it is just a case of someone paying the money to secure his services.
Liverpool fans, what do you think? Good signing? Let us know!
