Liverpool have had a great start to the season as Klopp's side have made it four wins out of four in the league.

The Reds look have looked worryingly good so far this season and one particular aspect that Liverpool seem to have improved massively is at the back, where so far they've only conceded one goal.

The back four of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk and Andrew Robertson are arguably now, one of the best defensive units in the league. The two young fullbacks have developed into two typical Klopp players and despite their young age, both are firmly entrenched as the two started for the club.

However, over a long Premier League season, Klopp is going to need his squad players to step in.

Nathaniel Clyne is a solid defender and at one time was the first-choice right-back. His current £70,000-a-week deal runs out in 2020 but Liverpool must offer him a new deal.

The Breakdown

At 27, Clyne is in the prime of his career and could arguably have pushed for a move away over the summer due to the lack of potential game time. While he may not start ahead of Alexander-Arnold, the defender is going to be a vital player for Klopp over the course of the season and will provide excellent backup to the Liverpool academy graduate.

Although Clyne only managed three appearances in the Premier League due to injury, he still has a lot to offer the club and Klopp should offer him an improved deal.
