Liverpool should scout this 56-cap Chelsea man when they face off this weekend – agreed?

The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern have been drowning their sorrows today, following their side’s poor second-half display on Tuesday night. Despite leading 3-0 at the break, the Reds capitulated after half-time and ended up drawing the game – leaving a palpable atmosphere in the pub upon the final whistle.

Indeed, the game has put more pressure on Jurgen Klopp’s men as they begin their preparations for Liverpool’s upcoming clash with Chelsea. The Blues, in stark contrast, have had a decent few weeks, and Antonio Conte will be feeling very confident leading into the game.

It’s obviously a very important game, but a few of our resident reds have been locked in debate regarding which Chelsea players would be a good fit at Anfield. Limiting their discussion to realistic signings, the fans have come up with one name: David Luiz.

Luiz has been sensational since moving back to Stamford Bridge, arguably becoming the most consistent defender in the Premier League last season. This is significant because, conversely, Liverpool’s defensive form has been very poor this season, and that is definitely an area that Klopp will be looking to improve in January. He has made 56 international appearances alongside a plethora of appearances in the Premier League – meaning that he has the experience needed to turn Liverpool’s defensive ship around.

To make matters particularly interesting, David Luiz has recently been dropped by Antonio Conte and so he could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, particularly if their relationship doesn’t improve over the coming weeks.

It makes sense, then, if Luiz is selected this weekend for the Reds to place a lot of focus on the Brazilian. Scouts will no doubt be impressed with his form if he does play, and that could open up the door for a potential move in January.
